Denmark has expanded its military modernization by acquiring 44 new CV90 MkIIIC combat vehicles, increasing its future fleet to 159 units.

The 450 million dollar contract extends the agreement signed in 2024 and replaces the previous plan to upgrade the CV9035DK fleet, now adopting a unified set of next-generation platforms.

According to the Danish Army, the decision strengthens the heavy brigade’s combat capability. The Commander of the Land Forces, Major General Peter Boysen, emphasized that the vehicle is essential to the operational structure and stated that the country intends to place the entire fleet into service by 2030.

The new MkIIIC configuration aligns with the Dutch modernization program and features a redesigned turret with functional and ergonomic improvements based on operational data from European users.

BAE Systems states that the order reinforces Denmark’s confidence in the CV90’s performance and boosts interoperability with NATO allies.

The model has already surpassed 1,900 units ordered across 17 variants by 10 European nations, with an operational history in Afghanistan, Ukraine, and Liberia.
